Shuttles!
|
Shuttles are great when you can get one; even better when you have friends that can do them for you. Here is a list of possible Shuttles on the North Rim and South Rim. Please call in advance to see if someone is available and make arrangements. They are expensive! I have often arranged shuttles at the last minute just by asking locals in Fredonia or Tusayan if they knew anyone. I can make no guarantees with any of these below.
Please set me know if any of these are not up to date or if you learn of others!
South RimThe Bright Angel Lodge Transportation Desk, switchboard number is 928-638-2631 keeps a list of local people that will do shuttles for hire.
Other ideas include mountain biking back for the car, or asking around in Maswick or Yavapai or the General Store. One guy saw a compact car out at South Bass. In dry weather almost any vehicle can make it except for the last mile. I have driven out to the Pasture Wash Ranger Station, and left the car there. Then hiked the rest of the way to the trailhead. Be prepared to pay the Havasupai cash for crossing their reservation. Find out the current fee.To the North side try Trans Canyon Shuttle 1-928-638-2820

Marble Canyon Lodge and Cliff Dwellers used to do shuttles. Do they still?
Lake Mead
Greg Norman has operated a car and people shuttle from Meadview for many years. He serves mostly river runners who take out at Pearce and need to get themselves or cars to Lees Ferry, Flagstaff, South Rim, or Las Vegas.
